Jeremiah OC Jahi is an Atlanta-born but Brooklyn-nurtured Black American award-winning actor, photographer, filmmaker, playwright, and creative writer based in Los Angeles. He is an honorably discharged U. S. Marine Corps war veteran. He completed with honors his undergraduate and graduate degrees from The City University of New York with majors in Theater, Africana Studies, Political Science, and Sociology. Jeremiah has studied filmmaking as a continuing education student at The School Of Visual Arts in New York City, creative writing at Fordham University as a part of their writing program for Veterans, and playwriting at the Echo Theater Company in Los Angeles. In May 2023, Jeremiah completed an AA degree in Photography, and most recently, in 2024, he completed six AA’s in Directing, Producing, Screenwriting, Visual Effects, Cinema Theory, Post Production, and an AS degree in Film, Television, & Electronic Media. Also, he will complete AA’s in History and Religion in May 2025. All at Los Angeles Valley College.
As a trained theater actor, he has performed on various stages across the country, including a tour with the Tyler Perry and TD Jakes play Woman Thou Art Loosed. On television he has performed on various television shows, including a recurring principal role as Dr. Huffman on The Young & The Restless, Don Cornelius in the Hulu limited series MIKE, multiple roles on the soap operas As The World Turns, All My Children, and recurred on One Life To Live. Currently, he can be seen on Amazon Prime in the hit independent films WADE IN THE WATER, BUTT BOY, and DETAINED, starring Laz Alonso and Abbie Cornish. Upcoming film and television roles include THE END OF NOWHERE by acclaimed director/writer Peter Mattei, ALI 1978: The Butterfly’s Last Dance with Obba Babatunde, Where The Shadows Wait by Riley Robbins, and the new Amazon Prime Show, Countdown by Derek Haas and directed by Lisa Robinson. One of his greatest highlights was starring opposite Ice Cube in 2017 in the music video for his song Good Cop, Bad Cop. Jeremiah has acted in various commercials, shorts, and independent films past and present. Many are in the can and will be released soon.
He has won numerous film and photography festival awards for his work as an actor, photographer, and writer/ director. He is an alumni fellow of the year-long WGA WRITERS GUILD FOUNDATION: Veterans Writers Project Program in film and television (2019-2020), the Veterans Make Movies program at LACMA in Los Angeles, and an alumni fellow of the Geffen Playhouse Writing and Performance ten-week workshop for Veterans in Los Angeles (2023).
Jeremiah is developing several film projects (shorts and features), with filming scheduled for two projects in the summer and fall of 2025.
Lastly, he is a Brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a devout Christ follower.
