Ashview Heights Entertainment, Inc. was officially established in May 2020 with our highly acclaimed short film, “Casualty Of Time.” Ashview Heights Entertainment is a boutique-style media production company specializing in, but not limited to, the Black film space with a focus on Black aesthetics as its foundation.
MISSION
At Ashview Heights Entertainment, we believe that creating great work within the media space can help broaden the image of African-Americans throughout the world. As a primarily Booker T. Washington and W. E. B. Du Bois-principled African-American-based media production company, we realize and accept that African-Americans are a multi-faceted people, made up of the varied complexities that make one part of the human race. Keeping these complexities in mind, we believe that intelligent and truthful media about the daily lives of African-Americans should reflect those same complexities. Whether it is a story about the economically powerful, the socially great, the socially understood, the socially misunderstood, the educated, or the mis-educated, we believe they all have some form of worthwhile complexity that should make others grapple with as well as acknowledge their existence.
It is our mission to make sure this goal is accomplished by doing the following:
– Presenting media that is both artistically gratifying as well as commercially successful.
– Re-focusing components of African-American media back on storytelling and performance with a Black aesthetic as its foundation.
– To highlight important stories, but not necessarily mainstream in topic or importance.
– To use various forms of media (film, television, photography, podcast, and theatre) as a means to connect with and stretch the minds of the disinherited, but not to exclude the inherited.
